Red Flags indicating Development Delay in babies

These are the milestones which, if child is NOT able to do by the age mentioned, is a RED Flag


by 4 months age - Not able to hold up head


by 9 months age - Not able to sit up independently


by 12 months age - Not able to stand up independently with support


by 18 months age - Not able to walk independently


by 24 months age - Not able to run


by 30 months age - Not able to jump with two feet


by 5 years age - Not able to hop on one leg


Communication delay Red Flags


by 6 months age - No big smiles or joyful expressions


by 10 months age - No response when Name is called


by 12 months - No "Babble" or "Coo"

No gestures - like pointing, waving or showing


by 18 months - No Single Words


by 24 months - No Two word phrases



Loss of language or social skill is a Red flag at all ages
